We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support during our Spring Craft and Plant Sale, which just ended an hour and a half ago (May 2nd, 4pm). Thank you just doesn't seem adequate. We netted right around $1,200, all of which will be used for operating expenses for the Orting Valley Senior Center.
We could not have been successful without help from so many people. Jeanie Pestinger and all her friends from the LDS church gave food preserving demonstrations during the entire two-day sale. Volunteers kept the show running by pricing plants, serving food, selling raffle tickets, staffing the till and helping identify plants. They included Nancy Tice, Vi and Milt Merkle, Roberta Ballard, Gayle and Ray Sneesby, Donna Stratton, Frankie Tobia, Marie Bunker, Donna Porche and Luis Long. Craft vendors brought their artwork and offered the public rock-bottom prices and beautiful handcrafts: Dorothy Wilhelm, Donna and Keith Stratten, Luis Long, Donna Porche, Frankie Tobia, Sharon Kisinger and Marie Bunker. Please patronize the generous businesses who donated to our sale: In Orting -- Arrow Lumber, Kent Nursery, Orting Greenhouse and Soler Farms; In Puyallup -- Allen Scholz Farms, Beckie's Baskets, Garten Meister Plant Shop and Van Lierop Bulb Farm; In Sumner -- Windmill Greenhouse and Nursery, McLendons, Rhododendron Patch and Woodland Park Greenhouse. With all our hearts - Thank you. The Orting Valley Senior Center Barbara Hansen, Director |
