I was at the 1st parent meeting when coach John told us about his faults with using foul language. He said " words will come from my mouth that people won't approve of, but thats the way I am. If you don't want someone like me coaching your child now is the time for you to tell the city you don't want me as the coach" Not one parent said anything at the meeting about his choice of words, nor did they complained to the city like he said to do. I don't see what the fuss is about, he was up front.

I know nothing about how this coach was removed or the warnings/steps that led up to his removal BUT I do know that coaches are meant to inspire and lead their kids to greatness through example. Orting in general seems to be a little behind in this area, that goes for the HS coaches as well. Our kids do not need to be yelled at and certainly not cussed at. This kind of coaching only causes conflict. I'm sure another parent will step up and finish out the season. Isn't there an Asst. Coach?

I admit, we have never liked Coach John's use of foul language, especially to youth who should not have that example. However, did anyone even think that maybe just telling him it was not acceptable? When he defended the City of Orting even when uniforms (costly ones at that) didn't come in? Or when he talked to parents about poor behavior at a game and still never tossed the kids off the team as they were warned about? Because a few cry babies weren't through wet nursing their kids yet? Really
