OMS Pancake Breakfast Benefits The "Weller Fund"

The staff of the Orting Middle School is putting on a fund-raising Pancake Breakfast to benefit our “Weller Fund”. The breakfast will be Sunday, April 18th, from 7:00am to 10:00am at the Orting Middle School commons. The cost for breakfast is $7 per person for pancakes, eggs, ham and juice. This coincides with the Daffodil Bike Ride sponsored by the Tacoma Wheelman’s Club, but local community parking will be provided.

The money raised will benefit the “Weller Fund”. The “Fund” is used to assist Orting Middle School students who do not have the money for school supplies, sports physicals or school field trips.

Steve Weller spent his entire 30-year teaching career with Orting School District, beginning in 1974. He retired in 2004. Steve was one of a few teachers who wore a tie every day. Upon his retirement, he gave his entire collection of ties to Mr. Wells. He sold them to fellow staff members and the proceeds were used to start the “Weller Fund”.
