I seen the video & I agree with the commenter that said if the children had been seated properly they may have not been hurt when the bus driver slowed. Is there a reason why buses do not have seatbelts? After all they are mandatory to be warn in all other automobiles. Even those who are in wheel chairs are secured by safety straps. Shouldn't all children have the same right to be safe if a bus is to stop quickly? Parents, you seen your children in this video. Respect & courtousy starts at home.

After seeing the video on the news, I think the driver could have handled the situation better. Should have pulled over and handed out white/pink slips. This said, if I was a parent and saw my child acting up, there would be some severe punishment in store for them. I would make them walk the last mile to school in front of my vehicle. It takes a special person to drive the bus with up to 70 bratty kids on board. God belss them and they do make mistakes.

The kids pictured, are not even sitting properly. Perhaps parents should have a talk with their children about how to properly ride on a school bus. I'll bet the children that were hurt were all the ones not sitting as they should be.

If this bus's route drives by Calistoga E, then myself and my neighbor witnessed the whole thing. At first we thought the bus was having trouble from the jerking motions of the bus. But now I see what he must have been trying to do. My personal opinion and as a mom of three is that it was completely uncalled for. Not to mention ridiculous on his part! I know that kids got bloody lips and bumps but did he even think about whiplash!! He should not be allowed the job if he can't handle it.

I have children who have been bus riders. I can tell you there have been days that the roar coming from that bus was deafening. God bless the people willing to drive school buses! I'm not saying I agree with the actions of the bus driver, if he truly intentionally slammed on the brakes. However it's not something I would ever want to do. I think kids are increasingly disrespectful and fail to listen to those in authority. I think this man was nearing a nervous breakdown from loud kids.

I think we need to put Randy Dorn on this guys' bus. I think he needs to hit a few potholes and maybe have to hit the breaks really hard. Perhaps it'll knock some sense into him.
Certainly some of the kids on the bus were behaving, good for them. Sorry that any were hurt.
There's validity to the comments about children needing lessons on respectful behavior.
The driver needs to be able to tell why the brakes were applied and hopefully it wasn't malicious. But only he knows that.....

I'm usually the last person to stand up for the kiddos. I can't stand kids...I don't want to have any and I will NEVER work with them. It takes very special peope to have the patience to work with them and especially on the bus....and if the kids can't be quiet than discipline is definately in order...BUT...not in anyway shape or form that this bus driver handled

Though I feel sorry for the bumps and bruises the children received I have to agree with the other people who have commented. If the children had listened to the bus driver and done what they were told they would not have been hurt. The bus driver should be treated with the same respect as a teacher or principle by the children when they are on a bus.

I watched the video and hardly saw the kids move as the bus slowed. Has anyone interviewed the bus driver? How do we know he intentionally hit the brakes or had to brake because of something in the road? This story is too one sided. Maybe if the kids were sitting in the seats like they should, there wouldnt be any injuries.
