The Kingsmen Are Coming!

The King’s Men will be back, for their 20th year of fun and related activities with their annual Rod Run/Show & Shine to be held on the main streets of Orting, on Saturday, June 19th, 2010, the day before Father’s Day.

With this letter, we are officially notifying all businesses, families and emergency related personnel that we will be impacting the following streets for this event.  The closures are as follows: Washington Ave. S. and Van Scoyoc Ave S.W. from Calistoga St W, to Bridge St S.  Also, Train St SE from Rainier lane S.E. to Washington Ave S. and Train St S.W. from Washington Ave S. to Van Scoyoc Ave S.W.  There will be limited access on Bridge St S (SR 162) from Washington Ave S. to Harman Way S.

Those participating in the Rod Run will enter town from the north (Washington Ave N.) and then turn left onto Calistoga St E.  The next turn will be a right onto Varner Ave SE to Bridge St SE where they will make a right onto Bridge St SE heading west to Washington Ave S where they will enter the check point for parking.  All participates are encouraged to use the above route for entering into this event.

The street closure will begin at 6:00 a.m. and will reopen approximately 3:30 / 4:00 p.m. depending upon all cars having been repositioned or removed from show position.

To ease and assist the traffic flow, there will be over 35 signs and barricades placed around this event to guide the traffic in and around city center during this event.
