Joe Halahuni Named To 2010 John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List

Oregon State junior tight end Joe Halahuni has been named to the 2010 John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List, it was announced Monday. He is one of 32 players on the watch list for the award, which is given annually to the nation's top collegiate tight end.

Halahuni is also one of four tight ends from the Pacific-10 Conference on the watch list.

The junior comes into the season as the starter after tallying 35 receptions for 486 yards in 2009. He played in all 13 games for the Beavers, and scored three touchdowns.

It is the second such preseason honor for the native of Graham, Wash. He has also been named as the preseason second-team All-Pac-10 tight end by Athlon Sports
