Sen. Randi Becker to hold coffee hour in OrtingBy: Rich Carr
August 06, 2010
Sen. Randi Becker, R-Eatonville, will be holding an in district “coffee-hour” on August 11 at 11:00 a.m. at The Orting Bakery in Orting.
“I’m back in the district this interim and I really want to connect with the people of the 2nd District. To be an effective Senator I feel communication with my district is key. I would like to know their thoughts, opinions and ideas so I can bring them to Olympia for the 2011 legislative session,” Becker said. “I have always said I am here to serve the people who elected me, and I believe we need to sit down and hear what is important. Some of my best ideas for bills come from people in the 2nd District. I want to keep up this dialogue and hope people will come ready to ask questions and discuss solutions.” The coffee hour will be informal with no set agenda, those who attend will be able to direct where the conversation goes. An hour has been reserved for discussion, with the chance to fill out a comment card to leave with Sen. Becker. For questions or directions, please call (360) 786-7602. |
