Poor Coaching, Poor Orting H.S. Athletic Dept

No one would be complaining if these guys were undefeated heading into the playoffs! High school football don't start your child’s summer going into the 9th grade. High school football starts when your child is 6 years old, they learn the fundamentals in flag football and youth tackle football. The countless football camps and all the off season workouts. I know this because I have coached football at the high school and youth level in Hawaii and youth level here in Orting and now in Sumner.

Lets not forget the parents who support the whole school/team/kids there are a lot of those out there.
It's obvious that there are issues that need to be addressed leave that to the powers that be & stop with all the hatefull garbage

Wow this is way out of hand. the original Letter was about ethics & respect for person/player, not to tell the child one thing & do another.So many have turned it into a place to unleash the garbage. This letter was not mean to be an all out attack on anyone person it was meant to open eyes & it did. I am disgusted with some of the posts just because there is freedom of speech & the wonderful Internet does not mean you can sit down at your pc & just unleash on people thinking it is ok.

Such is life.
All of my kids are now amazing young adults. Both strong in character and work ethic due to this Village. A special thank you to Coach Parkhurst, Fowler, Delo, Sowards, Meeks, Karlena and the many others for your walk beside me in raising my kids. I appreciate all you have done!! Both times it was Parkhurst and his counseling of the coaches that “We are here for the KIDS” that kept them on the team and moving forward. Both my boys and my nephews played football for OHS for most of the last 10 years. Every week the coaching staff would prepare them both mentally and physically to believe that they were going into the Friday night game in a seconds notice. They all worked very hard all week but sometimes, they were disappointed and sometimes their hard work paid off

volunteers in the recreation programs have proved it to me in the walk beside me in raising my own children.
I have sat in the Orting stands watching my children participate in many different sports over the years. My children were neither the favorites nor the stars. Did I always agree with the coaching? NO! Did I always think my child deserved more playing time? YES! Twice over the years different coaches wanted to kick my kids off their teams.

First I would like to extend a heartfelt apology to the entire Parkhurst family for this anonymous attack by a few to be put on a website that represents our entire community. I have lived in Orting my entire life and come from a family that has been here for many generations. If you have an issue with a coach or any other staff member, set up an appointment to talk with them, find a resolution to your concerns. Please don’t air your problems on the www all it does is fuel unnecessary bad feelings. Don’t you think there is enough negative stuff going on in our world? I’m sorry you are feeling this way about our coaching staff and possibly the school district. But take a step back, take a deep breath and know you truly can find a solution to this issue. Talk with
