This subject of a Merger with East Pierce has been going on since late 2009, and with a different fire dept for quite some time before that. How much tax payors money has been spent and wasted on these Merger talks?
Another point is that (Interim Retired) Fire Chief Paul W. was onle hired by the Fire Commissioners until the Merger took place? Now that the Merger is not taking place, it is time to end the Lakewood Connection. (Chief Paul W. retired from Lakewood Fire and Fire Commissioner Mahoney involvement with Lakewood Distpatch.) Orting needs its own Fire Dept. and a Chief that is only Loyal to the Citizens of the Valley and not the Fire Commissioners!!!
