Orting Summerfest is just around the corner and we want to see you there. Come out to the Orting City Park from 10am-6pm on August 3rd and explore all that Summerfest has to offer. As always the fun for kids is free. Let them play on the super slide, bouncy house, obstacle course or ride the train. The princess booth is always a hit as are the tattoos and face painting. Don't forget to stop and play the carnival games for candy prizes. The Communities in Schools Fun Run kicks off at 10am so be there early to register. They are also accepting school supply donations for Orting youth. The entertainment will be fun to watch this year. Professional wrestling is certain to be a highlight of the day. The Orting Jr. Cardinals cheer squad, Orting Karate and Michelle's Dance students are excited to show their stuff. And enjoy the sounds of 3 vocalists that will be sure to entertain you. Petfest is new this year. Bring your dog out to enjoy the free agility course or let your pet show their stuff in the crazy pet tricks demo. Watch your child as they display your pooch in the pet contest and then let them strut their stuff in the pet parade. Take a few minutes and watch the Fly Dogs demo and see just how fast they can really run. And before you go take a few minutes to wander around and check out the pet vendor booths to see what treasures may be found. The food this year is better than ever. Enjoy Big Papa Bill's BBQ or the delicious Hawaiian food provided by the Orting Jr. Cardinal Football parents. Make room for dessert and choose from Kettle Corn, sno cones, cotton candy and chocolate by the pound and don't forget the coffee from Mighty Bean Espresso. Just because the sun goes down doesn't mean the fun is over. Come back with your blankets and chairs and sit back and relax after a long day of fun for the movie in the park. You can bring snacks from home or buy from the snack bar. Start time is dusk so don't miss it.
