1st Community Caroling Stroll at Tree Lighting - Dec. 6 !!!By: Patty Villa
November 24, 2014
Something special is coming to the annual Tree Lighting event on December 6 - A Community Caroling Stroll !!
Please come and bring friends for a quaint, small town holiday event that rekindles the warmth of the season! Everyone is welcome to join in a lighted Caroling Stroll from Orting Station (and the large Nativity at North Park) to the Bell Tower starting at 4 pm (gather at the Orting Station). This will be a Fabulous, Fun, Free Family Function! Warm Cocoa and Goodies will be there. Lyric sheets will be available with familiar carols. Some "candles" will be there for the lit walk, but it may be a good idea to bring a light source along with you to help create the lighted procession. Carols will begin at North Park. This is sponsored by Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. The Carol Stroll takes us to the Bell Tower, where at 4:30 we will join the Orting High School Choir. They will add their practiced voices with their selection of songs and we'll all sing along! More follows: Santa arrives via fire truck, the countdown to the tree lighting at 5 pm, and the kick off of the Holidays for Orting begins!! Cocoa and goodies will also be offered afterwards at the teen center and other local establishments will be open to welcome you! Please dress for the weather. Looking forward to seeing you there! |
