To the ladies who believe it is solely the slow drivers in front of them that causes traffic back up on 167:
First, let me say that I am a fairly aggressive driver. I drive almost 100 miles each day and whether I'm taking a short jaunt to the grocery store or driving daily in rush hour traffic all the way to Seattle, I love to be the first one to the next traffic signal and the first one off the line.
But, to think that my traffic woes are caused by the driver who (legally, by the way) drives five or ten miles per hour under the posted speed limit would be ignorant of the fact that shear volume is more likely the cause. Add to that the number of vehicles making left-hand turns, or slowing down to make right-hand turns...then count the traffic signals, which never seem to be as "smart" as the County would have us believe.
When I am stuck behind the inconsiderate person who chooses to drive more than five miles under the posted speed limit (the word is "limit"), I am thankful that I was held up when I hear on the radio of the collision a few miles up ahead or I pass by the remains of a fender bender...and I think that that could have been me due to my rush--or the rush of the person behind me.
It's at least 15minutes to Sumner-- longer if there's been an accident that you weren't aware of. Plan for it. And be thankful that you live in such a beautiful area, more than you are angry about the guy who drives slower than you do.
Maybe one day, I'll be the one driving slower...and thankful someone isn't trying to climb up my tailpipe because of impatience or lack of planning.
