ORTING HISTORICAL SOCIETY RESTORATION PROJECT

Phase 3 of the Stevenson/Coe Lumber Co. sawdust/waste burner (our Silo) has been completed. The mesh cap was put in place 9-27-08. Please drive by the site on Washington Ave. S.E. (next to the Public Safety Building) and see what 100's of hours by volunteers and contractors has accomplished. An extensive fund raising project, a grant from Pierce County, in-kind donations, and the City of Orting helped us meet our budget.
There is more to be done - grafitti proofing one of our concerns. We will accomplish this!
The Historical Society meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month, 2 PM, at Around The Corner Cafe. We welcome one and all. Come help us create "History You Can Touch."
As a non-profit organization all donations to us are tax deductible.
