I am very concerned about the basketball program at Orting High School. Orting has gone from one of the elite programs in the entire state to the dormat of the league year after year, and the school board does nothing about it.
Now they have dismissed Dale deVries who was an all state player at Orting when they won the state championship. Dale was the JV coach and voiced his opinion to the AD and the school board why Orting is the dormat of the league so the athletic director, who is the football coach, and a friend of the varsity coached fired him.
It is time for people to say enough is enough. It seems the school board and the athletic director couldn't care less that Orting basketball is the laughing stalk of the league. Lets get Orting back to where they were in the 60s, 70s, 80s and part of the 90s. Orting needs a coach than can teach fundamentals, and knows something about the great sport of basketball. I am embarassed that leaders of the school would stand by and this let this program become the laughing stalk of the league.
