SCOUTING CENTENNIAL YEAR KICK'S OFF WITH ANNUAL PINEWOOD DERBY

2010 marks the 100th Anniversary of Scouting in America. For a century, the Boy Scouts of America have created a strong foundation of leadership, service, and community for millions of America’s youth. Sponsored by the Orting Lions, there have been active Scouting groups in Orting for over 50 years.

The Centennial year kicks off with the Orting Cub Scout Pack’s biggest event of the year PINEWOOD DERBY – “Thunder in the Valley”. Over 60 cars will be racing this year.

Fire up those engines and let gravity do its work! The Pack 560 Pinewood Derby invites one and all to this year’s race event held at the Ptarmigan Ridge School Gym - Saturday January 30th.

Doors open at 10am with voting for your favorite entries. Race heats and concession stands open at 11am. This is the best entertainment value in the valley! Great food, fun and drink for all ages. Don’t miss out on the raffles and silent auction full of fantastic gift baskets, artwork and local merchant gift certificates.
