ORTING SCHOOL DISTRICT LEVY

On February 9th, 2010, the Orting School District will run a Maintenance and Operation Levy.

This proposition consists of a two year replacement maintenance and operation levy to be collected in 2011 and 2012.

Levy monies are needed to support essential programs and services for basic education not funded by the state, and will provide approximately 19% of the general District budget.

Orting students benefit from this levy. Levy dollars support enhanced learning opportunities by providing funds for additional textbooks and supplemental learning materials, teachers, support staff, extra curricular activities, special needs programs, transportation services, and general maintenance services.

The replacement levy will provide $3,762,000 in 2011 and 3,819,000 in 2012. The tax rate over this two-year period is estimated at $3.14 per $1000.00 of assessed valuation of your home.
