As a resident of orting i have noticed all to frequently motorist not stopping for pedestrians at cross walks.
My wife and i walk our 2 month old baby nightly around orting and we have to really plan our route out due to the fact that motorist just flat out will not stop at cross walks.
When we do go to a cross walk at least four or five cars drive through the crosswalk before anyone stops.
It seems to be worse during weekdays. With the nice weather and the influx in gas prices more and more people are out walking than ever and we need to bring awarness to this before someone gets hit by a car.
The laws concerning crosswalks don't go out of effect when school is out. Maybe some bicycle patrols by our local police would help curb this in combination with some awarness to the issue.
