OUR LAND!

America: the only country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed without eating, elderly going without needed meds, and mentally ill without treatment - yet we have a benefit for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations. Every place you look right now there is fund raisers and people asking for money for those in Haiti.
I like that we as the United States of America can help others in need. But seriously, there are so many in our own country that are in need of help. Why is it that we have so many in need yet we are shelling out money hand over fist for others?
