Orting City Council members are continuing talks with a Nestle subsidiary about building a bottled-water plant in town – less than a month after Enumclaw officials sent the company packing.
Nestle Waters North America officials gave a public presentation before the council Wednesday night about the company’s business practices and what it’s looking for in a potential location.
City engineers and the company are investigating how such a plant, which would bottle 100 million gallons of water a year, might affect the city’s water supply.
The company wants to make sure Orting’s three natural springs could provide enough water for both the city and the plant, and meet standards set by the federal Food and Drug Administration, said David Palais, Nestle’s natural resources manager.
