People who are planning their retirement are invited to attend the free Living Silver series of programs at three Sumner Pierce County Library. Living Silver addresses the non-financial aspects of retiring well. Mary Lloyd, author of “Bold Retirement: Mining Your Own Silver for a Rich Life,” presents this four-part series.
•Discovering the Buried Treasure–YOU: Define what is important for you. Consider your purpose once retired and explore how you might live that.
•Putting Work in Its Place: Look at the role of work (paid, volunteer, or creative) and the challenges of finding it once retired. Identify your best strategies.
•Silver Ties: Take a realistic look at relationships and expectations. Get connected and stay connected with spouses, parents and kids.
•Mastering the Cosmic Teeter Totter: Consider the balance needed for a satisfying life. Work on problem solving, communication and stress reduction. Address the potential for boredom. Start to plan your silver life.
