CITY CODE LIMITS FIREWORKS TO 4TH

If you just can't wait to light those fireworks until the 4th, don't set them off in Orting unless you're ready to incur the consequences.

According to Orting city ordinances, there are limits to when fireworks may be discharged within the city limits. You can be considerate of your neighbors and avoid visits from the police and costly fines by staying within the confines of the law and only setting off fireworks on July 4th from 12:01 AM to 11:59 PM. Many folks aren't aware that the city code also says that you can't light your fuses in city parks.

The safest way to enjoy a great fireworks display is to head out to the Community Celebration at Lion's Field.

Terri Murdock, one of the Orting Community Fireworks organizers says " Come and join the fun! The Orting 4th of July Community Committee has created a wonderful event for the whole family. Held at the Lions Park on Orville Road, the event opens to the public at 1:00 pm. This year the kids can look forward to: Pony Rides, Putt Putt Golf, Inflatable toys, a Kids Carnival with games and prizes, and a REAL Nascar with a simulator inside! For the adults we have a Beer and Wine garden with wine tasting from a premiere Eastern Washington Vineyard. There will be Live Music and an all day Bar B Que hosted by the Lions and Eagles. Some of the vendors you can visit are: Wild Boar Knives and Sharpening Service, Mary Kay, So So Pretty, Cookie Lee, Scentsy Candles, Avon, Schwans, Ups and Downs Henna Tattoo artist and Hot Off the Press Tees.
