'THE BIG O' IS COMING

Motorcycle riders of all levels are invited to participate in Orting’s first motorcycle Poker Run July 19, 2008. Entrance fee is $10 per hand. The run will start and end in Orting.

Proceeds from “The Big O,” sponsored by the Eagles of Orting, will benefit Communities of Schools of Orting and another charity chosen by the Eagles.

A poker run is a fun event where participants travel a predesignated route and draw one playing card from each of five checkpoints, staffed by volunteers. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. Prizes are awarded to the high and low poker hands. This event will have numerous door prizes for the non winning entries. The exact route will be printed on entry tickets but will include about 75 miles of the finest biking roads in Washington and have stops in some of our neighboring cities. “Honey, stop the bike!” views are common on this route.

The day will start with a fabulous Eagles breakfast from 8-10 a.m. with the first bike leaving town at 9 a.m. The rally ends precisely at 4 p.m. and prizes will be awarded immediately.

It should be noted that this is not a “race’ and that safety for all riders and others is top priority, the route is designed with that in mind.
