FIRE DEPARTMENT SIGN AGREEMENT

I didn't actually write an article, I can if necessary, but wanted it out there that the city of Orting has signed an agreement with Fire District 18 in which the district will take over the operation and delivery of fire and emergency services for the city. The city will give the district the funds that they would have spent for fire and emergency services.
One of the requirements of this agreement is that the city attempt a levy lid lift for emergency medical services which would create a funding parity between the city and the district for those services. District residents already pay 50 cents per 1000 dollars assessed value on their homes.
More information can be made available. This is important stuff and shouldn't be left unmentioned. A copy of the agreement can be requested from city hall.
