ORTING PUMPKIN FEST RETURNS FOR A SECOND YEAR

Last year the Orting City Council voted to support the creation of the Orting Pumpkin Fest and it began a grand new community tradition. The first annual event proved to be a huge success! Thousands of people turn out to enjoy the good food, live music, pumpkin games and displays. The event will take place on October 11 and 12 this year and once again the festivities will be located in the heart of town filling Orting City Park.

Please save the date and plan to get involved in the fun by entering your children in the Little Pumpkin Pals Parade, show off your creativity with an entry into the carved pumpkin contest and pumpkin glow, or enter your special car, truck, tractor or motorcycle in the Show and Shine car show.

The community is already buzzing about the return of this fun festival. Many local groups and business people have already signed on as supporters but more sponsors are wanted.

The Pumpkin Fest is primarily a food festival that features dozens of items made with pumpkin as a main ingredient. Many of the booths are run by local not-for-profit groups to raise funds to support their important projects in the community. In addition to the featured pumpkin food and beverage items - the festivities will feature arts & crafts booths, and a carved pumpkin contest that everyone can enter. All carved pumpkin entries will be lit simultaneously at dusk Saturday night at the Pumpkin Glow! So Come early and enjoy this impressive photo opportunity and a fun event.
