CARDINAL STADIUM

We hope that most of you have taken the opportunity to visit our wonderful new athletic facility.

Completion of “Cardinal Stadium” was the realization of a dream come true for many in our community, especially our high school Alumni and other long time residents. A lot of hard work, sacrifice and dedication were required, on the part of an array of individuals, including our local voters and taxpayers, to transform the vision into a reality.

By all accounts, Cardinal Stadium has quickly become a popular and busy facility, with a host of groups requesting its use. As a result, in an effort to preserve its integrity, avert dilapidation due to overuse, and forestall expensive repair costs ------ especially to the turf and track areas ---- we’ve devised some general user guidelines, as follows.

*Hours of Operation: typical hours of operations will extend from “dawn to dusk”. School activities and certain (officially scheduled) community events may obviously occur beyond this time frame, and will take precedence over all casual public uses.

*Prohibitions: Certain items such as weapons, tobacco, and drugs/alcohol are prohibited on all public school properties in Washington State, including Orting School District.

*Other Potentially Harmful Items and Products: Glass, Fireworks, soft drinks, motorized vehicles, bicycles and pets all tend to significantly accelerate dilapidation and result in costly repair and restoration costs, and are prohibited.
