Comment #12: Studies show that children that have pre-K education do much better in school.
Comment #11: I have a 3yr old daughter I don't want to do preschool...but I would love a pre-k program for her next yr
Comment #10: I totally agree w/comment #6. We just took our child to kindergarten open house and found out he is one of 27!!! It sounds like the kindergarten classes are way past capacity! 27 5-year olds is WAY too many, especially since the teacher said they don't have a para or other person in the room. How is my son going to get the education he needs with so many? I think they need another class, and fast!
Comment #9: Sounds like a property tax increase in the making, NO!
Comment #8: My youngest missed the deadline to enroll in Kindergarten this year by two weeks, adding another year to Pre-K. Having an Orting ISD sponsored Pre_k Program would be a great idea. Saves Time, driving and added bus service would be great if they could ride with the other elementary kids. Comment #4..Ask my child and she will tell you she wants to go to school just like her big sisters. Did somebody miss nap time? My stay home mom for the past ten years would love some mommy time. Our youngest would love/needs the social interaction in order to prepare for the next grade.
Comment #7: A quality preschool program would be great. I had to take my son out of Orting to get the quality we were looking for.
Comment #6: The parents who are going to send their kids to a quality preschool are already doing so. What we need is the support in smaller class sizes and teacher support so ALL our children can get the most out of Kindergarten.
Comment #5: It needs to be with the Orting School District
Comment #4: No, all it turns into is a reason for moms to dump their kids off on somebody else. They're going to spend enough time in school, let them be.
Comment #3: A little something for everyone would be nice.
Comment #2: it would be nice to meet other moms and have activities for my young son.
Comment #1: Why don’t we have Sound Off for all the morons who can’t get off this ridiculous issue about the stop signs on the trail and who believe the Police should give tickets to moms strolling along with small children who walk past a “Stop Sign”? Get a life…
