Comment #15: I don't drive my truck, (Dodge Diesel) but ride my H-D as often as I can, (weather) but will check into rain gear for the winter. We don't go out as much and try to combine and trips out of town. Vacations will be limited to nearby area out of state will be out of question, Thanks Uncle "Bush"
Comment #14: I don't leave town if I don't have to and I really consider if I need to run errands or if we can go without. I've even considered riding my bike to work...
Comment #13: Traded in my truck about 2 months ago, it was getting 10 miles a gallon, took almost $130 at the time to fill it up. Got a car that gets 30 miles to the gallon, and a 10 gallon tank. I figure in the next 6 months I can get my truck back for 1/3 the price I traded it in for because the price of gas hogs will go way down.
Comment #12: i stay home more and we try and combine errands and appointments more. i also do more errands before/after work.
Comment #11: I think this is wake up call to the enviromental issues.
Comment #10: To a point. I think out how many things I can get done in one trip out of town. Where other times I might have thought I just didn't want to do that much right now. Can't afford gas even with a 10 cent discount at Safeway. Got gas for 3.95 gallon at Costco yesterday. I love my Suburban and don't want to give it up so planning things out helps.
Comment #9: We don't drive as much and we certainly go outside of Orting if we need gas.
Comment #8: I finally joined the vanpool at work
Comment #7: I don't leave Orting unless I'm going to work. Then I stop at stores on the way home. I do everything on the way home from work. I don't eat out and I don't spend money on things I don't need. It costs me $280.00 a month just to drive to work into Tacoma 5 days week! I will need to get a second just to afford to go to the fist job!
Comment #6: We are planning vacations a little closer to home this summer.
Comment #5: Less trips to the mall, no more eating out!
Comment #4: Traded in my truck for a Harley-Davidson and my gas bill went from $400 to $50 the first month. Trips into Orting are often on bicycle now, and those little errands out of town are all now combined with other 'must do' trips. If Orting business had hitching posts or corrals in the park, we'd ride to town on horseback. Are you reading this Ms. Mayor?

Comment #2: Yes. We combine shopping trips into Puyallup with doctor/dentist appointments. We have always supported our local stores, now it just makes good financial sense to shop local.
Comment #1: Yes! We live and work out of town. Now we try to combine trips to South Hill and we don't drive unless we have to. No more impulsive trips. Our dining out is gone. Too expensive. When it sounds like a nice evening, I factor in the cost and how much gas that would buy. Gas wins every time over eating out.
